About

Dr. Branden Birmingham is an Assistant Professor Residence in the Department of Communication, with a background in public relations, stakeholder management, and conference management.  

In addition to his academic role, Dr. Birmingham is the Conference Director for the International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC). In this capacity, he plays a crucial role in organizing conference logistics, managing abstract and award submissions, and leading initiatives to improve conference management systems. His contributions in stakeholder collaboration and logistical support highlight his dedication to advancing the field of public relations. 

Dr. Birmingham earned his Ph.D. in Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina and holds advanced degrees in Public Relations and Information Management from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University.  

His academic and professional credentials are enhanced by certifications in online course development, faculty preparation, and digital analytics. He is also actively involved in advisory roles, including memberships on the Advisory Committee for the International Public Relations Research Conference and the Board of Foundation 44. In his free time he likes to travel. Dr. Birmingham has been to over 10 different countries and is constantly looking for unique places to go.
