Doctor of Philosophy in Communication 

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Communication offers students a unique curriculum that integrates theory and research in communication. We offer a rigorous course of study that students can tailor to their interests, preparing them for a variety of careers in academia, industry, and beyond.

Master of Arts in Communication 

The Master of Arts (MA) in Communication emphasizes the scientific study of human communication. It prepares graduates for careers in communication analysis — including advertising, marketing research, personnel training, social media marketing, and program evaluation — and offers a strong foundation for Ph.D. study. 

Fast-Track Master of Arts in Communication 

The Fast-Track Master of Arts in Communication allows UConn students to earn a master’s degree in just one year after completing their undergraduate degree. Students accepted to the program can apply up to 12 credits of graduate-level coursework taken during their undergraduate career toward the MA in Communication.
