About
Madison Wiese (M.A., University of Nevada, Las Vegas) is a 2nd-year doctoral student in the Department of Communication at the University of Connecticut studying interpersonal and health communication. Her work focuses on how individuals and couples’ approach sexual communication and how this communication shapes health outcomes. Her recent work examines how embodiment and contemplative practices, including interoceptive awareness and mindfulness, shape sexual communication and health outcomes. Her work has been published in Sexuality & Culture, and her master’s thesis, “Communicating Pain Unseen: Addressing Health Outcomes in Sexual Activity for Women with Endometriosis,” received the Outstanding Thesis Award from the Graduate College at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
